About us

We moved to Wales in 2013. When we were house hunting we struggled to find dog friendly places to stay with our 4 dogs, that got us thinking!

We were drawn to Carmarthenshire by the quieter, more laid-back pace of life and the stunning landscapes. Inspired by our love for the area and a desire to create a dog-friendly haven for travellers like us, we began our journey in the hospitality business.

Our journey started with Hafan Bach, a little haven that we lovingly restored over a couple of years. We opened our doors to guests in July 2016 and were delighted by the positive feedback and return visits from guests across the UK and beyond.

In August 2018, we welcomed our first guests to Hafan Fferi, a cosy one-bedroom cottage in the charming village of Ferryside, just a short walk from the beach. Hafan Fferi offers a perfect retreat for singles or couples looking to relax with their dogs.

While we once had several properties, we have decided to focus solely on Hafan Fferi. This allows us to provide a more personal and attentive experience to our guests. We are passionate about ensuring your stay is as comfortable and enjoyable as possible, and we look forward to welcoming you to our little slice of Welsh paradise.

Although we have since streamlined our focus to just one property, we have chosen to keep the website name Hafan Bach. We feel it perfectly encapsulates what Hafan Fferi represents—a little haven. Moreover, many of our guests know us by this name, and we cherish the identity and reputation we have built over the years.

We are passionate about providing a welcoming and comfortable experience for our guests. We believe in the importance of personal touches and attention to detail, which is why we strive to make every stay special. Our aim is to offer you a relaxing and enjoyable escape in our little slice of Welsh paradise.

We are always available should our guests need anything during their stay, as we live less than 20 minutes from the cottage. We are happy to answer any questions at all.
